Why I Sent Casey Neistat a Quilt That Took 2 Years to Make

July 6, 2016 by Jennifer Moore Leave a Comment

While making this Medallion Quilt, I spent many hours watching Casey Neistat vlogs on YouTube.

Several times during the quilting process, I thought about sending it to Casey to give to his daughter, Francine, but kept talking myself out of it. But then I made the decision to just go for it!

If you enjoyed this video, be sure to subscribe to the Sewing Report YouTube channel!

ABOUT THE QUILT: Medallion Quilt made out of Amy Butler Midwest Modern fabrics and a cream solid for the background. Backing is Anna Maria Horner Little Folks voile in Baby Bouquet Sweet. Binding is Kona solid in Wasabi.

NOTE: In this video I reference not seeing any handmade quilts in Casey’s vlogs, then the day after I finished editing I noticed one in the background of his New London house and I was like “You’ve got to be kidding me!” Casey, I guess this means you already love quilts?

If this is your first time here, Welcome!

I’m Jennifer and I make, but DON’T sell quilts. Making handcrafted things is amazing, and this is exactly why you should make things yourself or shop responsibly:

Here is the Quilty tutorial I used to help with the piecing:
