Can You Put a Walking Foot on an Industrial Sewing Machine? | Juki DDL-8700

May 23, 2022 by Jennifer Moore Leave a Comment

Excited to introduce a new sewing machine – we’re going industrial with the Juki DDL-8700.

After a number of fails, I found a longer replacement for the needle clamp screw that makes it possible to attach a walking foot. Hopefully I’ll be able to do some quilting & piecing on this sewing machine!

You will need the supplies listed below and both Phillips and flat head screwdrivers.

I did ask the dealer I purchased my machine from about this, and he didn’t really see an issue with attaching a walking foot as long as I don’t sew at a high speed, use shorter stitch lengths, and make sure the screw is secure. The threading in the screw hole could be stripped, but worst case scenario, the needle bar needs to be replaced.
